WHAT'S NEW
AT YSOP.... |
|
On November 30, 2005,
the First Lady, Laura Bush, visited YSOP in Washington, DC.
The purpose of her visit was to announce the release of a
Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) study
showing high levels of teens volunteering. Mrs. Bush also
worked with students from Cardozo High School, a DC public
school, to make sandwiches and decorate bags for a local soup
kitchen.

On December 19, 2005,
the students were then invited to work on a similar project with
Mrs. Bush and her staff at the White House. (Yes, a tour
was included!)
